At
the Loss Prevention Symposium held in Prague on June 2nd, 2004,
organised by EFCE
- the European Federation of Chemical Engineering
- I had the great pleasure to receive the 2004 EPSC Award with the
following motivation:
The
2004 European Process Safety Centre Award was given to Anders Jacobsson
for his outstanding work performed in the HSE field: "I
want to assist in optimising the process of improving process safety
'in the field', by always trying to find a reasonable and realistic
balance between the requirements from the authorities and the ambition
levels from the industry, gradually improving all the time."
EPSC
- the European Process Safety Centre - is an international industry-funded
organisation which provides an independent technical focus for process
safety in Europe. EPSC's activities are sponsored by chemical manufacturing
companies and related businesses with a keen interest in chemical
process safety.
Recognition
on an individual level also plays a vital role in boosting the interest
in process safety and since 1996 EPSC has made an Annual Award for
outstanding contribution to process safety in Europe.
